Stunning black and copper kitchen

Our customers wanted a functional family kitchen, along with a space for entertaining with a wow factor!

We had several factors to consider when designing this kitchen,

There was a pillar in the middle of the room that the customer wanted removing to open the space up further, so we installed a new steel beam for the support required and lowered the ceiling in the kitchen slightly so that the cabinets reached the ceiling without a gap at the top. We also moved the door to the utility to allow for a better flow in the kitchen.

The customer has dogs but wanted dark colours and were concerned that if we went too dark it would show up the dog hair, we selected a textured black door from our German supplier Rotpunkt. The room was already bright due to half height windows along one wall and sloped glass roof so the room would be able to take the dark colour.

The room was an L-shaped so we followed this line with the island but, rather than being the same we created a false wall placed an Oak worktop on to give an extra dimension and a little natural warmth. We used Dekton for the rest of the kitchen worktop, in a textured black.

We opted for DeDietrich all black integrated appliances with a touch of copper, we balanced this with copper vertical handle rails for the kitchen and copper sink and tap from 1810 Company. The customer wanted a streamlined hood and for it to be as invisible as possible so we selected a white ceiling hood from Neff.
